Conceptual Installation of Green Living Spaces Inspired by Eric Lloyd Wright on Display at Green West Expo Los Angeles Convention Center

LOS ANGELES - Green Media Enterprises (GME) today unveiled the initial renderings produced by sustainable architect Eric Lloyd Wright for the upcoming installation - “Sustainable Living Spaces Inspired by Eric Lloyd Wright” - which will hold center stage at the upcoming Green West Expo. This interactive display of green rooms will be located on the show floor at Green West scheduled May 20-22, 2008 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (tickets are available at the door or through www.greenwestexpo.com). First LEED Gold-Certified Home in Florida Combines Sustainable Resources with Smart Design


Simple Structure and Selective Materials Create Functional and Attractive Green Home

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - When Darren Brinkley, owner of REAL building, created the miniature model of the concept home he wanted to build, his focus was not entirely on building a green structure.

“I wanted to build smart, not just green” Brinkley said.

Yet, the home he created in St. Petersburg, Fla., recently received Florida’s first gold-level certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System for homes. While more than 200 projects have been certified by LEED for homes, projects like Brinkley’s demonstrate that sustainable structures can provide multiple efficiencies, increased safety, and an improved quality of life for the homeowners.

DES Architects+Engineers Designed Leed Life Science Research Building

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - DES Architects + Engineers designed Roche Molecular Diagnostics (RMD) ‘Green’ Research Building targeted to be LEED Silver certified whose grand opening ceremony took place on April 3rd. The 135,000 square feet building on RMD’s campus in Pleasanton establishes a strong connection between research and the adjacent development and pilot manufacturing buildings. Kohl’s Opens Largest Green Photo Studio in United States

Studio doubles previous space, furthers company’s environmental stewardship with pursuit of LEED Certification

MILWAUKEE - Today Kohl’s Department Stores announced the opening of its new state-of-the-art photo studio in Milwaukee, just miles from the company’s Menomonee Falls, Wis. headquarters. The 100,000-square-foot facility was constructed using the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria and is expected to earn a Gold rating from the organization. It will be the only LEED-certified photo studio in the country.

State’s First Renovated Building Gets Green Designation

U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Awards LEED® Silver Certification

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The California Department of General Services (DGS) announced today that the California Department of Rehabilitation’s headquarters in Sacramento has become the first State building to be awarded green building certification after undergoing a major renovation.

To mark the achievement, a USGBC plaque designating the Department of Rehabilitation Building as “LEED-New Construction Silver” (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) was unveiled today at the 721 Capitol Mall building during a ceremony for the building’s employees.
