Vintage Fridays Begin! |
Published by Celestyna Brozek under Uncategorized
I know – it’s not Friday. So sue me for not being able to wait another second to introduce you to my nefarious plan.
Here’s the deal: As of right now, barring any drastic and immediate changes to the green fashion landscape, the best way to dress green is to get your clothes second-hand. You totally don’t have to worry about the carbon footprint, because its long been washed away by the tides of time. OK, there are the emissions from the vehicle of whoever carted their stash over to the Thrifty Dime n’ Dollar or whatever, but those are totally canceled out by the fact that those clothes escaped the landfill!
Now, here’s the catch. If you’re like me during my formative years, and you live in someplace like, oh say, Albuquerque, New Mexico, the thrifting is pretty lean. Or maybe, “vintage” isn’t your look.
And that, my dears, is where Vintage Frursdays come in! We will hunt down the hottest vintage finds out there – all available over the interwebs. Trust me, even if “vintage isn’t your look” you’ll get hooked on something. And now, you poor Albuquerqueans don’t have to spend hours pawing over the racks at Thrifttown – some awesome person has done it for you.
EVEN BETTER: every once in a while, if we fall in LUV with a piece, we’ll grab it, and give it away to YOU via some contest giveaway on either our twitter or facebook. So if you’re not already following/fanning, you might want to consider it.
And now for today’s finds – we’re pairing dresses with their match-made-in-heaven shoe:

wait - don't be too quick to judge. think about it - it may work in that oxymoronic juxtaposition kind of way. channel early rei kawakubo
