Outsa-wha?!?!

Published by Celestyna Brozek under Uncategorized

Hmm, I’m feelin’ the blog love this week, so I thought we should just finish what we started with Hel-looks yesterday. There are some blogs that you just have to know about. You just do. And if you do, congrats: you are so ahead of the game. If not, congrats: you are now in the loop.

Today I introduce you to the Empress of DIY, upcycling and “trashion.” Trust me, normally I’m kind of a snob about upcycling but Outsapop gets inspiration straight from the catwalks and is guaranteed to not only totally wow but also get your fingers itching to get all crafty EVEN IF you are not generally crafty!!!

Plus she makes gorgeous zipper jewels-ry:

what's that gorgeous detailing? Is it beads??

no! It's safety pins, which until this very moment I thought were totally played out.

Did you know that clothing from the 1930s is very difficult to come by? It’s because it’s all practically gone! Why? Cause when you outgrew your pants, you gave them to your brother. When he wore them into the ground, you cut them into shorts and used the scraps for quilt squares. When the shorts were all but dead, you patched your jacket with them. You even took what was left of those pants and stuffed the quilt with them! Here’s to turning dresses into shirts, pants into skirts, and as in the one image below, shirts into slip-covers for chairs! Viva la tasteful upcycle!

What to do with that old sweater???

Patchy jeans are SO IN right now! And the harem pant (for some of us. ahem) is now a stalwart mainstay in our wardrobe.
