What I Want For Christmas: Crossley

Published by Celestyna Brozek under Designers

Okay, here’s a selfish spin on a gift guide. But trust me, you will all want this too when you see it!

Intriguing, no?

Intriguing, no?

It’s Italian, so why am I surprised? But it’s so beautiful and so innovative too! For this collection, theĀ  designer took denim and recycled the fiber into jersey for their BEE YOU TEE Full garments.

How can I not swoon when the first line on their about page is: The Crossley line for 2009 relies on total environmental respect?

In addition to recycled denim, the company also uses bamboo (my personal fave), silks and linens, and dyes them using completely natural plants dyes derived from romantic/exotic sources such as ivy, black tea, indigo, and tormentil which I looked up since I had never heard of it. It’s really quite interesting – look it up!

While I had to exercise extreme restraint to keep myself from posting their entire line, I limited it to a few looks so you would feel compelled to pop over to the Crossley site and oogle the rest of it yourself. See? It’s really a wishlist for all of us. In fact, when I write Santa my Christmas list email, I think I will simply put the link for the Crossley site!

Gorgeous classy garments that will become staples in my (and perhaps your) wardrobe. :)

Oh, PS. Looking up tormentil got me all interested in vegetable dyes, so stay tuned for a guide to plant dyes full of gorgeous earthy hues and exotic plant-y beauty!
