“LUSH-ious” Living |
Published by elizabethhall under Stores
If you had told me two months ago to go ahead and throw lemon juice, yogurt, and avocado in a blender and then proceed to have me put in on my face, I would have said you were crazy. But for some reason LUSH made me want to do it. Ever since I have discovered their fabulous little store on San Francisco’s Powell Street, I have become addicted to shopping their amazing assortments of affordable organic and vegan beauty products. Everything from $7.50 chocolate and veggie face masks, to their famous $5.95 “bath bombs” and sparkling pink bath bubbles, LUSH has it all. It is a rather unique company based out of Vancouver, BC Canada and prides themselves on providing only the most eco-friendly of products.

Upon first entering LUSH, I immediately became intrigued with the wide range of products this store had to offer. The company extends its product range to shampoos and conditioners, body and hand soaps, lip conditioners, bath bubbles, and fragrances. The bath bombs, a signature product, are one of my favorites. Only to be described as fizzing bath treats, these guys are packed with essential oils and natural fragrances. Once they hit the water, they begin to dissolve and fizzle, making bath time fun again for big kids (minus the rubber ducky). Bits and pieces of actual flowers, plants, and other treats are packed into the bath bomb to make your bathing experience refreshing and enjoyable. Trying this product is a must. The best part is that all of the ingredients used in these products are REAL foods, plants, and flowers that come from Mother Nature herself.

LUSH is a unique, “never-before-seen” company that literally takes items you could very well find in you refrigerator and turns them into usable, effective, and environmentally conscious products. The organic beauty industry has been thriving, yet LUSH seems to set itself apart in this way. These days, organic beauty products have more than made a statement in the consumer world. With a big boost from companies like Bare Minerals and Origins, eco-friendly make-up and skin care products have finally made their way onto center stage over the last few years. The appeal towards a greener lifestyle means that, as consumers, we have more options in buying from beauty lines that are taking more proactive steps in finding and utilizing more eco-friendly products. I always have admired this notion and especially with companies like LUSH that have been eco-friendly from the start. So next time you find yourself near Powell Street and in need of a little pampering, you should pop into LUSH and see why they’re creating such a buzz!

Mmm sounds like a smoothie! But not all green products are quite as edible as they promise.
