I’ve already started brainstorming for Christmas presents.
Yes, I realize that this makes me one of those really annoying people, but the fact of the matter is, I have to start early or it just won’t get done.
Plus, I like to make sure my gifts, especially to my family, are really thoughtful.
I’ve been really into upcycled jewelry lately–and Etsy has been an excellent source of vintage, eco-finds. (I actually might do all my shopping on Etsy, and I encourage you to do the same! It makes it so easy to do all your shopping in one place AND be eco-friendly!) I think they’re perfect gifts for mothers, sisters, best friends, aunts, nieces, cousins..what have you!
Here are a few favorites:
Sparrow Salvage specializes in Neo-Victorian jewelry with a “post-apocalyptic edge.” The clever creator of this line calls it “Faginpunk.” All of the items are made by hand using antique and vintage textiles.
Twisted Rag and Chain necklace with Labradorite
Vintage Element Earrings with Mother of Pearl
Dropping new items weekly, Dust Design Co searches out objects that would be considered “obsolete,” and puts them to good use. Great items for both men and women!
Vintage Wizzbang Cocktail Necklace
QA Create specializes in specific, niche, artisan made jewelry. Their concept is to recycle “lost and forgotten” items into something fashionable. All items are 100% handmade.
Vintage Typewriter Key Locket: Black Floating Shift
Frozen Time: Steampunk Cocktail Ring
19 Moons is a limited edition jewelry shop that makes its one of a kind pieces out of vintage and recycled materials. Sticking to a Steampunk, Neo-Victorian, Industrial, and Retro style, this shop is a great find for unique finds for both men and women.
