Elegant Dining with Bamboo |
Published by Green by Design under Uncategorized

Designed by Anthony Marschak, the Modern Bamboo Spring chair retails for $690-$710, Amuse dining table retails for $3500-$4500.
Sleek and sexy lines describe the furniture from Modern Bamboo. Using reclaimed wood and bamboo with the latest manufacturing techniques they have created designs that are elegant and environmentally friendly.
The Spring Chair is described as offering “a flexible ’spring effect’ thanks to the strength and flexibility of bamboo, and provides a unique response to the weight and movement of each individual. This dining chair is a single ribbon of 100 percent laminated bamboo, gently contoured and tapered to fit the body.”
The Amuse table is a 1.5″ inch thick slab of bamboo with a steel base. As their website mentions they will custom size this table to your needs. I would definitely be happy using this slab in my home/office as my desk, though my wife would prefer to place it in the dining room.
The Modern Bamboo prices are comparable to other similiar products. But with the sustainability edge these are products worth looking at.

About Bambo
A beautiful, enduring, light, and ecological sustainable, bamboo has inspired human beings for centuries, and has been a benefit to people in Asia, Africa, and South America. It has been used as a building material with the strength of steel; for writing and musical instruments, weapons, fuel, food, and medical products. Worldwide there is an estimated 600 million who rely on income from bamboo.
As the fastest growing plant, bamboo is not a tree. It is a giant grass. Some species grow four feet in one day. Bamboo reaches full height in one growth spurt of about two months. When bamboo is harvested, the root system is unharmed and healthy, ready to produce more shoots. There is no question that bamboo is a renewable resource. Compared to a oak that takes 120 years to grow to maturity, bamboo can be harvested in as little as three.
